About The Role 

The Clinical Director is responsible for the management and quality assurance of all  clinical services provided by Virgil including the training and supervision of all clinical staff (Nurse Practitioners, Group Facilitators, Therapists, Medical Director). The Clinical Director works closely with and reports to the National Clinical Director to drive a program development agenda to ensure continuous refinement of the clinical model. The Clinical Director is a key leader on the Senior Management Team, which supports compliance with all delivery of services to the fiscal, ethical and legal  standards upheld by state laws and the core values and mission of Virgil. 

What You’ll Do

  • This job operates in a fully remote environment. The Clinical director will be responsible for leading and developing teams virtually 
  • Responsible for the oversight, supervision and quality assurance of all SUD and mental health clinical  services including both record keeping and direct services; 
  • Ensure clinical services are in compliance with county, state and federal regulatory agencies 
  • Ensure adherence to the required HIPAA and documentation requirements as identified by county, state  and federal regulatory agencies 
    • Interacts with patients and families when clinically indicated to provide additional employee and patient support
    • Provide clinical direction and oversight to employees when indicated
  • Review treatment plans, case notes and written correspondence in order to verify that such documents  meet county, state and federal agency standards 
  • In coordination with the National Clinical Director, ensure a coordinated implementation of treatment plans and  service utilization such that the comprehensive care of clients reflects the philosophy and objectives of Virgil  
  • Evaluate all clinical staff quarterly
  • Participate in management team meetings and attend meetings when requested by the National Clinical Director 
  • Perform other clinical and supervisory duties as assigned 
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)  
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention

What You’ll Need

  • Licenses and/or certifications (LCSW, LMFT, LPC, etc) 
  • Licensed for at least 5 years 
  • Must be licensed in Florida 
  • 2 - 3 yrs previous experience as a Clinical Director - responsible for program management and staff supervision, including transforming clinical staff into a highly functional team, and handling employee relations, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws
  • Experience with outpatient, behavioural health, PHP, residential programs, acute patients (psychiatric, addiction) settings
  • Comfortable leading and developing a team in a completely remote environment 
  • Critical decision making and problem solving skills 
  • Comfortable in crisis, working under pressure 
  • Ability to assess the safety/risks of situations and determine best practices
  • Strong communication skills, both in written and verbal correspondence
  • Strong leadership skills, with the desire to grow and develop staff 
  • Previous experience with program development and evaluation
