Hi, we're Oscar Medical Group. We're hiring a Virtual Primary Care Medical Director to join our team. This position is remote, but you should be licensed in Texas.

At Oscar Health we are refactoring healthcare. We want to help each of our members achieve their healthcare goals in a personalized way. To help us achieve that goal we are looking for physicians who push boundaries to refactor healthcare and the healthcare delivery system.

About this role:

As the medical director, you will shape overall care delivery and help inform the care model in other markets as they evolve. You will promote communication between Oscar Medical Group and other healthcare providers in the community to ensure we are building a medical neighborhood for our patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership.
  • Manage a diverse care delivery team (including APPs, RNs, and Medical Coordinator staff).
  • Provide direct patient care to a subset of patients through telemedicine (video, phone).
  • Escalation point for the care delivery team.
  • Work with senior leadership to manage clinical partnerships in the community.
  • Support development of clinical guidelines and continuous improvement of Care Model.
  • Provide expertise and give feedback on ways to improve workflows and tooling to reflect best care practices.
  • Manage the quality of care for your panel.
  • Participate in Oscar Medical Group committees.
  • Build relationships other healthcare providers in the community to ensure we have a medical neighborhood for our patients.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Texas state license
  • Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Med-Peds
  • 5+ years of primary care experience (including residency)
  • Experience as a medical director, leading a team of care providers.
  • Experience being metrics driven in a practice setting as it relates to population health management, quality benchmarks, and productivity
  • Willingness to practice medicine virtually
  • A desire to challenge the conventional in search of delivering a better healthcare experience.
