Job Description

Looking for a dynamic person that embraces the Hospice philosophy to join as our Hospice Medical Director. The Hospice Medical Director, MD or DO, has the overall responsibility for the medical and physician services of the Hospice and Palliative Care Program.

Minimum 8 hours a week up to 20 hours per week (depending on availability) with on-call requirements. Potential to be fully remote, depending on patient case load.

NH or East Coast provider preferred, current NH or compact license required.

Responsibilities (not a complete list) for the Hospice Medical Director (MD or DO):

  1. Provides oversight of all hospice plans of care including completion of Certificates of Terminal Illness (CTI) for hospice eligibility
  2. Attends weekly Interdisciplinary team meeting, collaborating with Hospice team members
  3. Maintains current expertise in providing hospice and palliative care services
  4. Maintains working knowledge of hospice and palliative care regulatory requirements

Qualifications for the Hospice Medical Director:

  • Duly licensed to practice medicine without restriction in the State of New Hampshire
  • Doctorate in Medicine or Osteopath
  • Certified in Hospice and Palliative Care (HMDC) and/or 3-years hospice/palliative care experience
  • Current licensure with the Drug Enforcement Administration without any limitation on authority to prescribe medication under such registration
  • Registered as a qualified Medicare and Medicaid provider
