About the Role:  We are hiring a full-time Clinical Safety Monitor (LMFT/LCSW) to support the work related to trial and product safety by providing clinical and research support to other members of the Clinical and Medical Affairs Teams.  This position will report to the Associate Director of Patient & Clinical Affairs.

An independent clinical license and residence in the United States (excluding US territories) is required.

What you’ll be doing in collaboration with the Research and Clinical Teams:

    • Follow established research protocols, federal regulations, good clinical practice and regulatory guidances to conduct safety monitoring including contacting participants to manage safety issues during research studies
    • Support in the development of safety monitoring and safety classification protocols for human subjects research
    • Train other staff in safety monitoring for research studies
    • Support and conduct the clinical review and interpretation of clinical and safety data
    • Be available to work, as needed, on assigned weekends and holidays to monitor and follow-up on the safety of research participants during periods of active data collection
    • Support and conduct the clinical review and interpretation of clinical and safety data
    • Work collaboratively with the research team to prepare safety data for reports and analysis
    • Support the preparation of safety and clinical materials for and attend clinical trial Data and Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB) meetings
    • Contribute cross-functionally to the consideration of clinical, safety, and developmental issues in product development and commercialization
    • Other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications:

    • Masters degree in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy or related field
    • Maintain a professional license (e.g., Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist) with at least 1 year post-licensure experience 
    • Capacity to collaborate effectively with diverse, cross-functional teams
    • Have clinical experience working with adolescents and young adults and be knowledgeable about developmental issues and the clinical presentation of mental health problems in these populations
    • Experience conducting risk assessment and management with teens and young adults 12-21 years of age
    • Familiarity with the use of the most current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) to diagnose psychological problems
    • Experience working in research environments
    • Strong computer skills including ability to operate word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet, and presentation software
    • Proficiency with and comfortable using remote communication tools like slack and video conferencing platforms (e.g. google meet, zoom)

Preferred Skills:

    • Familiarity with evidence-based mental health care 
    • Experience with IRB regulated research
    • Familiarity with the data entry or data management
    • Experience in digital mental health and/or experience with clinical research
    • Basic proficiency with online document storage systems (e.g. google drive) task management tools (e.g Coda) and data entry
Salary range: $70,505 - $84,934/year
