Neuroradiologist – UMass Memorial Medical Center &

UMass Chan Medical School

Worcester, MA

One week “on”, One week “off”

 

The Department of Radiology at UMass Memorial Medical Group, the clinical partner of the UMass Chan Medical School, is seeking an ABR and Neuroradiology CAQ certified/eligibleradiologists at any rank. Candidates must have an MD degree or equivalent, must be board eligible or certified in Radiology, and have a full  Massachusetts medical license. 

Appointees will have responsibilities in adult and pediatric neuroradiology including brain, head and neck and spine. The candidate will provide evening (4-10 pm) and weekend coverage (8 am to 5pm).

This position involves working one-week-on / one-week-off, which can be done 100% remotely without any onsite requirements. Manageable volumes. All ED Neuro CTs are interpreted by our dedicated ED Radiology Division. There are also opportunities to work additional remote shifts if desired, though not required.

The Department of Radiology at UMass Memorial Medical Center www.umassmed.edu/radiology include 85 fellowship trained Radiologists, all practicing in organ or modality-baseddivisions, including a 24/7/365 Emergency Radiology Division. The department trains 5 Residents per year (20 total).

The Neuroradiology division is comprised of 9-fellowship trained CAQ-certified faculty who interpret neuroradiology examinations as well as interpret or consult on difficult neuroradiology cases throughout the UMass health system.  All imaging is interpreted via an enterprise-wide PACS system integrated into an EPIC EMR. We support a robust automated critical results communications system and a reading-room coordinator to minimize disruptions to the Radiologists’ work-flow. There are 2 ACGME accredited “Neuroradiology” fellowship positions, and an “MRI” fellow who devotes 50% effort to neuroradiology. Areas of clinical focus include:

  •       Stroke imaging including perfusion
  •       Adult tumor imaging
  •       Advanced Neuroimaging including DTI and BOLD imaging
  •       Head and neck tumors
  •       Neurodegenerative diseases
