Advanced Practice Provider - Virtual Primary Care

$104,000 - $136,500 yearly
Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant

Job Description

Hi, we're Oscar Medical Group. We're hiring a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Virtual Primary Care team.

Oscar is the first health insurance company built around a full stack technology platform and a focus on serving our members. We started Oscar in 2012 to create the kind of health insurance company we would want for ourselves—one that behaves like a doctor in the family.

About the role

We're looking for a full-time APP to manage a panel of members within the state of Texas and other Oscar states where we offer Virtual Primary Care or expand to (including Florida, New York, Colorado, Arizona, or Georgia). You'll keep a set patient schedule and will be the primary care provider for your panel. We're building this program from the ground up, so you'll engage with new products and tooling that we're rolling out for the virtual care service lines.

You will report to the Virtual Primary Care Medical Director. This is a remote / work-from-home role. You must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, or Virginia. Note, this list of states is subject to change. #LI-Remote

The potential base pay for this role is: $104,000 - $136,500

Responsibilities

  • Provide care for your panel of patients (18+) virtually (phone, messaging, video)
  • Provide continuity of care to patients from young/healthy to chronic conditions (DM, HTN, COPD, etc).
  • Collaborate with MD/DO on Care Team on complex patients / escalated cases.
  • Follow up on labs, imaging, and closed loop communication with patients and other providers where necessary.
  • Use tooling to promote virtual "exams" including remote home monitoring equipment, remote physical exam, remote point of care diagnostics (ie TytoCare or Butterfly).
  • Collaborate with registered nurses, medical assistant and clinical supervisory where applicable
  • Be available for on-call shifts and to answer important labs escalations.
  • Maintain a flexible patient schedule -- this may include scheduled early morning visits (7am) and early evening visits (7pm) with occasional Saturday visits as we understand patient preferences.
  • Participate in collaborative care with virtual behavioral health specialists and other partners of the care team
  • Flex between Oscar's virtual services. We have three main services (primary care, urgent care, and health assessments).

Qualifications

  • DNP, FNP or ENP from an accredited nursing school or PA certification
  • 3+ years of primary care experience in an outpatient clinic setting
  • 1+ years of experience delivering virtual care
  • Texas license in good standing OR a Compact State RN license and willingness to apply for a TX license before hire.
  • Additional state licenses (at least FL/ NY/ GA/ AZ) or willing to be licensed in additional Oscar VPC states, also in good standing

Bonus Points

  • Technical proficiency - we have a lot of systems we use (Athena, Oscar internal tools) and you need to be comfortable using these tools
  • Experience being metrics driven in a practice setting as it relates to population health management, quality benchmarks, and productivity
  • Experience working with remote diagnostic and home monitoring tools
  • Fluent in Spanish
