Position Summary: Apply and modify the principles, methods and techniques of Addiction Medicine and General Outpatient medicine to Advanced Practice Clinicians (NPs and PAs) who provide patient care within an OBOT (Office Based Opioid Treatment) clinical setting. Some patient care and administrative services may be provided remotely. However, this position will require in person services at a home clinic 1-3 days/week based on clinic need.


Performance Responsibilities:

  • Provide collaboration, direction and supportive medical judgment to the clinical team.
  • Provide addiction medicine patient care
  • Work closely with Center Managers, NPs and PAs, care coordinators, to ensure comprehensive delivery of services and quality patient care.
  • Maintain a culture that focuses on quality medical care and customer service
  • Provide quality review of charts in each center for mid level collaborators..
  • Assist clinical staff in understanding and complying with policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance by medical staff with company policies regarding ethical, legal and professional issues.
  • Ensure compliance by medical and clinical staff with applicable regulations and with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Maintain quality assurance for all clinical delivery and clinical quality issues and assist in the solution of any medical problems.
  • Collaborate, review and evaluate performance of collaborating PAs and NPs.
  • Assist, as required, in resolution of patient grievances regarding medical issues.
  • Maintain appropriate professional conduct and appearance
  • Adhere to Company policies regarding confidentiality

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Previous experience in Addiction Medicine.
  • Previously held supervisory/collaborative experience
  • Knowledge of professional medical practice related to treatment of addiction medicine.
  • Knowledge of organizational and medical policies, regulations and procedures.
  • Skill in maintaining medical records
  • Skill in developing and maintaining medical quality assurance and quality control standards.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients and medical staff.
  • Ability to react calmly, objectively and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with patients, staff and clients.
  • Good telephone manners and etiquette.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with patients, staff and clients.
  • Excellent people skills. Ability to get along with, motivate and work effectively with others
  • Ability to use and document in an electronic medical record.
  • Ability to perform telemedicine

Education:

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) from a U.S. accredited institution.

License/Certification:

  • Current license to practice medicine in the State where the center is located;
  • Current Controlled Substances Registration certificate from the Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Department of Justice. Hold an X-Waiver with the DEA
  • American Board Certification in Addiction Medicine, Occupational Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine or Family Practice preferred. Open to other specialties.
